Engineering Precision in E-Commerce – A 3D Skydiving Designer

about project

Client: Australian brand of skydiving equipment.

Task: Create a platform for selling custom suits, where accurate measurements are critical for safety and visualization is crucial for sales.

The Challenge: Buying a diving suit isn't like choosing a T-shirt. It involves 30 body measurements, a choice of materials (summer/winter/light), and a custom design. We needed to transform this complex design process into an easy and aesthetically pleasing user experience.

What the Wandry team has implemented:

3D Configurator (Three.js): We developed a visualization system with five paint zones and real-time logo overlay. We optimized large 3D models, implementing smart caching and lazy loading to ensure the configurator runs smoothly even on mobile devices.

Accessibility (ADA Compliance): The website is fully adapted to Australian inclusiveness standards. This was a "starred task"—making the complex 3D interface accessible to all user groups.

Direct-to-Factory Bridge:
We've eliminated the middleman. Order form data is automatically converted into a specification understandable to the factory and instantly sent to production.

Results in numbers (The Magic Numbers)

"We've reduced the time it takes to get from the idea for a suit to the start of its production from several days to a couple of minutes, eliminating the human factor 100%."

Resume for a portfolio

This project is a proof of concept that Wandry can work at the interface of e-commerce, 3D graphics, and industrial automation. We didn't just make a store; we created an interface between the parachutist's body and the machine tool at the factory.
